About okokumo
oko — eye. kumo — cloud. The eye watching your cloud.
Sovereign by design
okokumo is hosted entirely in France (Scaleway, fr-par) — your monitoring data never leaves the EU. No US cloud dependency, no ambiguity about which jurisdiction's law applies to your data. GDPR isn't a checkbox we add later; it's the starting condition the whole product is built under, down to a DPA available from day one.
Why "okokumo"
oko (eye) + kumo (cloud): an eye watching your cloud infrastructure, tirelessly, from more than one vantage point at once. It's also why a failure has to be confirmed from a second, independent probe region before it pages you — one eye can blink; two watching together, rarely at the same time.
Our take on monitoring
Most monitoring suites try to be an entire observability platform — logs, traces, RUM, dashboards for everything. We think the first job of a monitoring tool is narrower and more urgent than that: know the instant something you depend on breaks, tell you fast, and don't cry wolf. HTTP checks, heartbeats, TLS/domain expiry, alerting that reaches you in under a minute — done well, kept simple, nothing you don't need bolted on.
The bar we hold ourselves to
We dogfood okokumo on itself, and beyond that, an independent external monitor — outside our own infrastructure — watches the watcher. Our internal target is 99.9% availability.
